i can also tell with ~90% accuracy if either my mom or my dad is coming up the stairs or walking next to my room, they each have differing walking "patterns" (for lack of a better word) and the sound they make when they step also differs

Our stairs are really squeaky and I can tell exactly who is going down the stairs based on their patterns. 

Dad: Explosive first step, pause, normal pace

Mom: Controlled, even steps

Sister: Light, quick, bouncy steps

Brother: Uneven pace all the way down
